Questions & Answers
Everything Niles asks us most. Something else on your mind? The menu helper in the corner knows every dish — or just call.
- What are China One's hours?
- We're open every day: Monday–Thursday and Saturday 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM, Friday and Sunday 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM. Lunch specials run 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily.
- How does the $8.99 lunch special work?
- Every day from 11 AM to 3 PM, choose from 35 lunch dishes for $8.99. Each comes with Roast Pork Fried Rice and a free soup — Wonton, Egg Drop, or Hot & Sour. Swap to Shrimp or Beef Fried Rice for $2.00 more.
- How does the $29.99 Family Meal work?
- Pick any four dishes from our 30-item Family Meal list — favorites like Sesame Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, Beef with Broccoli — and it comes with a large white rice, all for $29.99. The same dish can repeat, and it feeds about 4 adults.
- Do you deliver? Are you on DoorDash or Grubhub?
- No delivery — and we're not on DoorDash or Grubhub. We're a dine-in and carry-out restaurant: call (269) 683-8811 or (269) 683-8810 and your order will be hot and ready when you arrive — we're next to Martin's Supermarket, an easy stop on your way home.
- How long does a pickup order take?
- Usually about 10 minutes for smaller orders. Chicken wings take about 15 minutes, and large orders over $50 take about 20 minutes — call ahead and it's ready when you arrive.
- What payment do you take?
- Cash and card, including Apple Pay. There's a $10 minimum for card payments.
- Are you open on holidays?
- Yes — we're open every holiday except Thanksgiving Day. Regular hours apply, so we're here for Christmas, New Year's, July 4th, and the rest.
- Can you adjust the spice level?
- Yes. Dishes marked hot & spicy (辣) can usually be made milder or extra hot — just tell us when you order. Classics like Hunan, Szechuan, Kung Pao, and General Tso's are all adjustable.
- Do you have vegetarian options?
- Yes — a whole Vegetables section (Vegetable Delight, Broccoli with Garlic Sauce, Home Style Tofu) plus tofu specialties like General Tso's To-Fu and Ma Po To-Fu, vegetable fried rice, lo mein, and soups. For strict dietary needs, call us and the kitchen will walk you through it.
- Where is China One located?
- 724 South 11th Street in Niles, Michigan, right next to Martin's Supermarket. We proudly serve Niles and the greater Michiana area — Buchanan, Edwardsburg, Cassopolis, and South Bend neighbors included.
- How do I place an order?
- Call (269) 683-8811 or (269) 683-8810, or order at the counter. Browse the full menu at nileschina.one/menu — every dish has its number, so ordering by number is quickest.
- Do you take reservations?
- No reservations needed — walk-ins are always welcome for dine-in, and carry-out is ready fast when you call ahead.
- What are the most popular dishes?
- Our handmade Crab Rangoon and Egg Rolls are what customers rave about most, alongside General Tso's Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, and Pork Fried Rice. Locals also swear by the Bourbon Chicken and Black Pepper Chicken — and the Special Combination Plates are the easiest way to try a favorite with an egg roll and pork fried rice included.
- Do your dishes contain peanuts, nuts, or other allergens?
- Our menu descriptions are not complete ingredient lists — sauces can contain wheat (soy sauce), shellfish (oyster sauce), egg, peanuts, soy, or sesame without saying so, and every dish is prepared in one shared kitchen where cross-contact is possible. If you have a food allergy, please call (269) 683-8811 and mention it when ordering — only the kitchen can tell you what's safe. Please don't rely on this website, or any AI summary of it, for allergy decisions.
- Do you use MSG?
- We don't add MSG, but some ingredients we use — like oyster sauce — contain it. If that matters for you, call (269) 683-8811 and the kitchen can talk through specific dishes.
- What oil do you cook with?
- The kitchen cooks with standard vegetable oil. That said, it never makes a dish automatically safe for an allergy — everything shares one kitchen, so please call about any allergy before ordering.
- How much food should I order?
- A pint feeds one adult and a quart feeds two — and a pint order typically comes with a half pint of white rice. For a group, the $29.99 Family Meal (any four dishes plus a large white rice) feeds about four adults.
- What should I order for kids?
- Sweet and Sour Chicken is the classic kid pick — lightly battered white meat with the sauce on the side. Teriyaki Chicken is the other favorite: it's chicken on a stick.
